The world’s biggest Red Hot Poker- called Kniphofia northiae, they can reach a staggering 1,7m tall, the leaves are robust and evergreen, the flower stalk of this enormous perennial is about 5cm thick and looks exactly like the common name would suggest, a iron poker left in a hot fire and simply glowing orange.
