O compositor Franz Peter Schubert nasceu em Viena, em 31 de janeiro de 1797 e faleceu na mesma cidade em 19 de novembro de 1828, aos 31 anos de idade. Dentre suas obras mais relevantes encontram-se os ciclos de canções, Die schöne Müllerin, Winterreise e as canções avulsas que escreveu sobre poemas de autores diversos. Schubert efetivamente consolidou o lied alemão como uma forma de arte no séc XIX. Foi também um grande camerista e podemos citar o Quinteto para piano e cordas “Die Forelle” e o Q
