The Superior Court hears felony, divorce, and title to land cases. The Superior Court Clerk maintains all Superior Court records, including divorce decrees and real estate records.

The Superior Court of Cobb County is a court of general jurisdiction handling both civil and criminal law actions. The Superior Court has concurrent jurisdiction with State Court over cases involving misdemeanors, contract disputes, premises liability, and various other actions.

Cobb County Veterans Accountability and Treatment Court (VATC) seeks to divert eligible veteran defendants with substance dependency and/or mental illness that are charged with criminal offenses, to a specialized criminal court.

Vic Reynolds was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp as a Superior Court Judge in the Cobb Judicial Circuit on August 15, 2022. He is the former Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, serving from 2019 until his appointment to the bench. At the GBI, he oversaw approximately 1,000 employees.

Judge Brown has been honored to serve as a Judge by Designation for several county State and Superior Courts in both DeKalb and Cobb County.

The Superior Court of Cobb County has eleven elected judges who preside over jury trials, rule on evidence, hear motions, and render verdicts in bench trials. Superior Court Judges are elected to four-year terms.

Judge Brendan F. Murphy was appointed Chief Magistrate of Cobb County by the Superior Court bench of the Cobb Judicial Circuit in July 2019 and elected to a full term in June 2020.

Judge Kellie S. Hill was recently elected to serve on the Superior Court of Cobb County, Georgia and currently holds the distinct honor of being one of the first judges of color elected to the bench. Prior to her election to the Superior Court, she served full-time on the Cobb County Magistrate Court, presiding over both civil and criminal matters.
