NAV Canada provides air traffic control operations to Canadian airports. On Thursday morning, its facilities in Vancouver and across Canada were the target of threats.

A series of bomb threats that briefly grounded flights at six major Canadian airports Thursday began with an early morning phone call to an air traffic control tower in Vancouver, soon repeated at other towers across the country.

A bomb threat was received at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in the early hours on Wednesday. Richmond RCMP received a bomb threat around 2 a.m.at the YVR Nav Canada air traffic control tower on Thursday, July 3. The tower was evacuated and a thorough search with the help of Integrated Police Dog Services (IPDS) found no threat.
