The Texas Rangers and Bruce Bochy are splitting up after a three-year arrangement that brought the club the first World Series title in team history. President of Baseball Operations Chris Young met Monday with Bochy to discuss the future and mutually agreed to part ways.
The Rangers hired Chris Young in 2020 and quickly won a World Series in 2023. The first time executive made it a priority to quickly improve the roster. He signed stars Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi, just to name a few.
The Cleveland Guardians ' magic number for clinching a postseason berth is two. It remains three for them to win the American League Central Division. An exciting final series of the regular season is in store when Cleveland hosts the Texas Rangers in a three-game set.
Chris Young knows he can’t run it back for the third year in a row hoping it’ll be different. What won a World Series doesn’t work here anymore.
Corey Seager has been a centerpiece of the Texas Rangers since signing his 10-year, $325 million deal before the 2022 season. The shortstop immediately delivered, playing a central role in Texas’ 2023 World Series championship run and earning World Series MVP honors after powering the lineup with timely hitting and steady defense.
