FOX 12 has received a letter that was sent to troops on Sept. 29 from the Oregon National Guard’s Adjutant General Alan R. Gronewold in which he addressed troops’ concerns about the deployment.

While no federal troops were spotted on Wednesday, those who were at the building on Tuesday night say it was tense. Some people even said they left the protest after seeing arrests.

According to the Oregon Military Department, the deployed troops won't be ready to arrive in Portland before Thursday, and likely not until the weekend.
