A 16-year-old went to Nashville Police headquarters and told officers he shot at the victim during a drug transation, police said.

Some of those who were being treated at area hospitals were suspected to have been involved in the shooting, police said.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man suspected of shooting another man late Sunday night is on the run according to the Metro Nashville Police Department. MNPD said the shooting happened at City Side Flats apartments on Lebanon Pike near Spence Lane. Two men were involved in an argument when one pulled out a gun and shot the other, police said.

Nashville Police believe the 18 and 20-year-old victims were shot during an apparent drug transaction, the department said.

Metro Police are responding to reports of a shooting Friday afternoon in West Nashville. A FOX 17 News crew reports there's a scene on 40th Avenue North near Murphy Road, next to The Produce Place. Police tell us the victim was riding in a vehicle on Charlotte Pike near 46th Avenue North when another vehicle "pulled up next to them and began shooting.
