President Donald Trump takes harder line on Russia, allowing deeper Ukrainian strikes and coordinating new sanctions while urging NATO allies to increase defense against Moscow provocations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that Russian forces are prevailing in what he said was a "righteous battle" in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy called the attacks "pure terrorism" and urged Europe and the U.S. to respond with tougher sanctions and stronger defenses.
