Providence, Oregon and nurses

Bargaining had been stalled for two weeks. 8 a.m. Monday — As nurses at eight Providence hospitals in Oregon enter their sixth week on strike, Portland elected officials are getting involved.
The demonstration involved nearly 5,000 nurses working at Providence hospitals represented by the Oregon Nurses Association, and was initially joined by other clinical workers including doctors.
The school board in a western Oregon community whose residents are predominately Latino or Hispanic has voted down a resolution expressing public support for immigrant students.
