Green Day Fan Invited On Stage to Play ‘Good Riddance,’ Plays ‘Wonderwall’ Instead
The young man enlisted for this very special honor used this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do an extremely bold and — we have to admit — good bit. Instead of playing “Good Riddance,” he started performing the other alternative nation classic that’s also a guitar 101 standard: Oasis’ “Wonderwall.”
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong kicks fan off stage for playing Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’
Days before, Green Day played a set at Germany’s Hurricane Festival, where Armstrong chastised a fan for squirting him with a water gun. The band was performing their 2004 tune, “Jesus of Suburbia,” when the singer stopped mid-song and gave the crowd the middle finger. Armstrong then went upstage to confront the culprits.
Armstrong was far more serious with the fan at the Hurricane Festival.
