NVIDIA has ordered 300,000 more H20 AI GPUs from TSMC just weeks after the ban on selling to China was reversed. That's great news for NVIDIA, but some national security experts are sounding the alarm.

Nvidia developed the H20 to compete with Huawei, a chipmaker based in China. The US bars companies from selling US technology to Huawei. That approach appears to have been successful at slowing Huawei’s progress in developing critical technology,

White House National economic adviser Kevin Hassett, in an apparent reference to Nvidia's H20 AI chip shipments to China, said President Trump and his team decided to let the chips go in a bid to stop China from getting ahead in the race to make the best chips.
