Cardiff City fans will miss the sight of Wayne Rooney prowling the sidelines in this Saturday's Championship encounter (12:30 BST) after the Plymouth Argyle boss fell foul of the Football Association.

Plymouth Argyle boss Wayne Rooney was unhappy with Perry Ng’s role in Ibrahim Cissoko’s red card during their 5-0 defeat at Cardiff City. The Welsh side ran out comfortable winners against Plymouth, but a turning point undoubtedly came in the 41st minute, as Cissoko was shown a straight red after an altercation with Ng.

Wayne Rooney was left speechless after the pressure was piled on as Plymouth were thrashed 5-0 by Cardiff. The Plymouth manager had to watch his side’s capitulation from the stands as he served a one-match touchline ban after being sent off for misconduct in their previous match against Blackburn.

Cissoko was sent off for shoving Ng to the ground with his team already 2-0 in the first half on Saturday. The Plymouth forward was retaliating after Ng had kicked the ball at him as he lay on the ground having been tripped by Bluebirds winger Ollie Tanner.

Wayne Rooney will take his Plymouth Argyle side to Cardiff City this weekend, with the Greens boss looking to secure his first away win in charge of the Devon outfit.
