After Franklin dropped a pass early in the fourth quarter of Monday's game, ESPN commentator Troy Aikman criticized Nix's execution on the play. "If he just steps up in the pocket -- he doesn't have to run up in the pocket -- just slide up and deliver a good ball because, Franklin, he's got everybody beat," Aikman said.
The Denver Broncos quarterback had been struggling, so his wife Izzy wasn't showing off her game-day looks like usual.
The Broncos outgained the Bengals in yardage 512-159. Denver ran for 186 yards on Monday night. JK Dobbins with 101 yards on 16 carries became the first Denver player with a 100-yard rushing game since Payton became the Broncos’ coach in 2023.
After running for one touchdown and seven yards in his last game (on six carries), Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos will meet the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5, on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Game Time: 1 p.m.
Jake Browning completed 14 of his 25 passes for 125 yards in the losing effort. The Bengals quarterback, who entered Week 4 with a NFL-high five interceptions, didn't commit a turnover in this game, but that was largely due to conservative pass attempts.

What's wrong with Bo Nix?
For a good portion of his 2024 rookie season, Bo Nix looked like a bona fide franchise quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Nix's efficiency, accuracy, and general playmaking ability were among the biggest reasons Denver made the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
Bo Nix was supposed to be too old, or not have the arm strength, or any number of other things that were nitpicked about his game coming out of college. But the Denver Broncos' second-year QB keeps proving people wrong. On Monday night, Nix dominated the Bengals in a 28-3 win.
Nix remained underwater in September as Denver stumbled clumsily into the national spotlight with one win. Despite the penalties, self-inflicted wounds and general offensive awfulness on early downs, the Broncos were two walk-off field goals from being undefeated.
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to rookie running back RJ Harvey in the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Here's video of the play, courtesy of the team's official Twitter/X page:
Last night, Bo Nix put up a passing stat line of 29 of 42 (69%) for 326 yards, 2 TDs, & an INT. That 326 yard passing mark is a new personal best for the sophomore QB, which may feel a bit weird for a guy with 22 career starts and 12 wins.
