Apple unveiled upgrades to operating systems across its devices on Monday, including overhauled visual elements, a fresh naming system for software updates and new features in its Apple Intelligence suite.

Some developers feel ambivalent about the artificial-intelligence releases coming out of Apple’s annual developer gathering—a far cry from when WWDC was tech’s main event.

Apple announced Liquid Glass on Monday for all of its devices at WWDC 2025. Perhaps the most noticeable thing about it is that app icons, tab bars, and even the text magnifier you’ll see when you hover over words feel, well, liquid-y and glassy.

Apple announced new artificial intelligence features at the Worldwide Developers Conference keynote June 9. The company launched testing versions of live translation, visual search and a workout assistant. Apple Intelligence will also be a part of the Reminder, Messages and Apple Wallet apps.

Last year's keynote event was loaded with AI updates. This year's focus on design was a breath of fresh -- and familiar -- air.
