Enbridge (NYSE:ENB) closed +1.5% on Tuesday after Alberta's provincial government disclosed the details of a partnership with the company in an effort to accelerate growth opportunities to double oil and gas production in the province.

The agreement is to begin with a new formal working group between Enbridge and the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission, a Crown corporation.

The government of Alberta is seeking to increase Canadian pipeline capacity to help it meet its goal of doubling crude oil production and boosting exports to the U.S.
