Vanderbilt baseball was ranked No. 16 in the D1Baseball preseason poll. The Commodores were previously ranked No. 15 in the Perfect Game poll released last week. This is Vanderbilt's lowest-ever preseason ranking in the D1Baseball poll, which has existed since 2015. The Commodores were ranked No. 14 in 2018, their previous lowest mark.

The Commodores went 38-23 last year, with a 13-17 record in the SEC. Vanderbilt made a deep run in the SEC Tournament before losing to Tennessee. They were eliminated at the Clemson Regional, losing both games.
