One night after the Dallas Mavericks failed to overcome the depth of a short-handed team, they flexed their own roster depth in front of a packed home crowd. The expectations were high for an early January matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers entering the season.

In what has to be considered good news, though, Daniel Gafford is listed as questionable with a left sprained ankle. He went down on Monday against the Grizzlies and was out against the Lakers on Tuesday. Jason Kidd expected Gafford to be out for a while, but he's already been upgraded.

The Mavericks will need PJ Washington to play well alongside Klay Thompson amid Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving's injury absences.
