Folks in Dallas-Fort Worth have been dealing with cold temperatures for much of the week, and Friday is no different. Texans endured record morning lows on Thursday and could possibly face the coldest February 21st afternoon on record.

Overnight, our attention shifts from the potential icy spots to the dangerous cold. Most of the area is under an Extreme Cold Warning through 9 a.m. Thursday. This means wind chills could be as cold as ten below zero.

With the arrival of an Arctic blast, the region could see the coldest air of the season Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. It expects wind chills in the area to dip into single digit in the metroplex.
