An intelligence assessment after the election found that Russia waged an information warfare campaign designed to boost Trump’s prospects and damage Hillary Clinton's candidacy.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe on Wednesday announced the declassified release of a new report identifying “anomalies” in a 2016 intelligence assessment on alleged Russian interference in the presidential election that brought Donald Trump to power nearly nine years ago.

In an extensive review of the 2016 assessment, conducted as part of its wide-ranging Russia investigation, the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2020 found no “significant analytic tradecraft issues” with U.S. spy agencies’ work.
