For the third time in four years, an Orioles player was recognized as the American League’s top rookie by his fellow major leaguers. Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser on Saturday morning was named the AL’s Outstanding Rookie in the Major League Baseball Players Association’s Players Choice Awards.

That included yesterday’s reveal of awards from the MLB Players Association, player votes that saw Colton Cowser honored as the AL Outstanding Rookie. He beat out a group that also included Boston’s Wilyer Abreu and New York’s Austin Wells among the top three.
