Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay was honored with the key to his Georgia hometown and a celebratory parade on Saturday after he and his teammates defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Feb.

Slay graduated from Brunswick High School in 2009 and helped the Philadelphia Eagles win the 59th Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Philadelphia Eagles relied on their defense to help deliver one of the most dominant Super Bowl performances ever. The team managed to prevent a hat trick for Patrick, preventing the Kansas City Chiefs from three-peating as champs.

The city of Brunswick showed out in full-force to show its support for its native son and Super Bowl champion.

Still capable of shutting down opposing receivers while being a vocal leader and mentor, the Eagles would be wise to keep Darius Slay in Philly for his swan song season.

Darius Slay spent years with the Detroit Lions before coming to Philadelphia. He was there during some tough years. From 2013 to 2019, Slay was one of the best players on the Lions but did not see much postseason success.
