Senators voted 31-0 for Senate Bill 26, sending to the Texas House legislation to give across-the-board raises to educators in Texas.

A Texas Senate bill filed on Tuesday would provide long-term pay raises to teachers based on years of experience, expand a state program that offers raises to instructors based on student performance and allow educators to enroll their children in pre-K free of charge.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Texas Senate passed Senate Bill 26 with unanimous vote to raise teacher pay across the state. The bill will now moves to the Texas House of Representatives for consideration.
