The slate of candidates in this year's election poses an existential question for El Paso voters — is it better to elect a fiscally conservative mayor who will clutch close the city's purse strings and hold the line on taxes or back a candidate focused on quality-of-life projects and economic development expansion.

Along with a presidential race, El Paso voters will weigh in on several key local races like mayor and five El Paso City Council seats.

Early voting ahead of the Nov. 5 election begins Monday, Oct. 21, and ends Friday, Nov. 1. In Texas, all registered voters can cast a ballot in person

El Paso County voters will be able to vote for or against five propositions on the Nov. 5 ballot that, if approved, would add amenities to county parks, upgrade and improve the coliseum, build new annexes and offices for the medical examiner, and create the county’s first animal shelter.
