A Texas Senate committee is set to discuss a bill Monday that would ban all forms of THC, the primary psychoactive compound in marijuana. Texas Senate Bill 3, backed by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, aims to address concerns that unregulated THC products are being sold in stores across the state.

There is little doubt that a ban will sail through the Senate. But its prospects are far less certain in the House.

"Separation of church and state, that's not in the Constitution anywhere," said , state Sen. Mayes Middleton, R-Galveston, who authored SB 11.

Senate Bill 314 would ban certain food additives from free and reduced-price meals served in public schools. Senate Bill 25 proposes requiring students to take nutrition classes beginning in high school and directing food manufacturers to label products containing certain ingredients.
