Officials say the North Carolina restaurant shooting that left three dead was highly premeditated, with the suspect tied to anti-LGBTQ claims.
During a Sunday morning news conference, officials at the North Carolina coast delivered an emotional update on a “highly premeditated” mass shooting into a restaurant on the Southport waterfront that left three dead and several others injured Saturday night.
Governor Josh Stein visited Southport after a shooting, offering support and addressing community safety and storm preparedness.
The suspected shooter is Nigel Max Edge, 40, of Oak Island, authorities confirmed during a press conference on Sunday.
Southport shooting in North Carolina suspect Nigel Edge is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday, District Attorney Jon David said. He is being held without bond.
