Rishabh Pant was dismissed in the nervous nineties for the seventh time in his Test career, falling one short of breaking MS Dhoni's all-time Indian record.

Rishabh Pant overtook MS Dhoni in the list of Indian wicketkeepers with the most Test hundreds. The batter slammed a sensational hundred in the Bengaluru Test match to lead India's mega comeback in the 1st game of the series.

Rishabh Pant braved his way to a brilliant half-century on Day 4 of the 1st Test between India and New Zealand at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on October 19, Saturday. Pant walked out to bat while being heavily strapped in the morning alongside Sarfaraz Khan.

While Kohli was dismissed on the final ball of Day 3, Sarfaraz hit his maiden Test century on Saturday. Rishabh Pant too joined the party, smashing 53 off just 56 balls before rain returned at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Sarfaraz said it was decided that they won't go for quick runs while batting with Pant but the excitement of getting to his maiden Test century got to him.

New Zealand gained the upper hand in a pulsating first Test against India in Bengaluru despite an incredible fightback from Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant. Sarfaraz (150) and Pant (99) batted with great authority on the fourth day of the Test and looked like giving India a substantial lead.
