Two crew members who were missing following the crash of a fighter jet in Washington state have been declared dead, the Navy said.

The jet – an EA-18G Growler aircraft – was carrying two crew members when it went down during a routine training flight.

“The U.S. Navy has declared two missing crew members of the EA-186 Growler crash, deceased,” the announcement reads. “Electronic Attack Wing Pacific has shifted from search and rescue efforts to recovery operations.”
