Boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. has been released from a prison in northern Mexico. He was sent there in August after being deported from the United States.

A Mexican judge on Saturday said Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. would go on trial for accusations of having cartel ties but could await that trial outside of detention, the boxer's lawyer said.

Boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. is in a Mexican prison after being deported from the United States. Chávez was arrested in the U.S. last month and accused of cartel involvement.
