Hurricane Melissa left a trail of destruction across the Caribbean, from Jamaica and Cuba to Haiti. Hundreds of thousands of people are in urgent need of food, shelter and clean water. Atlanta-based CARE is putting boots on the ground to help.

Hurricane Melissa damaged several Caribbean islands and left at least 60 people dead. One family that was trapped in Jamaica is just now getting back home.

Tampa businessman David Luckain was born in Jamaica. He was there visiting when Hurricane Melissa hit the Island on October 28th and says he's never experienced anything like it.

At first light on Wednesday, the coastal communities of southwestern Jamaica bore the devastation of being in the direct path of Hurricane Melissa.

We just want to make sure that our neighbors in Jamaica know that people care and will come out there to help them in their darkest hour,” Onur Topac said.

In the days between the Union’s playoff games, Blake's home country was hammered by Hurricane Melissa. Now that the club's sweep is done, his next games might take Jamaica to next year's World Cup.
