Imelda, currently a Category 1 hurricane, is forecast to create hurricane-force winds, waves and flash floods in Bermuda late Wednesday. The storm should pass north of the island at close to Category 2 strength, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Hurricane Imelda is churning off the East Coast creating High Surf Advisories through Thursday from the Outer Banks of North Carolina down to eastern Florida, covering more than 800 miles of coastline.
Tropical Storm Imelda is expected to strengthen into a hurricane this week and bring flooding to parts of the Caribbean and the coastal Carolinas.
