A driver was killed in a fiery crash after leaving the scene of another on the Dan Ryan Expressway Saturday morning. Illinois State Police said the crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. on I-94 southbound at 76th Street.

A 30-year-old man was fleeing a previous crash when he went up an embankment on the Dan Ryan Expressway and struck a pole about 1:30 a.m. Saturday near 76th Street, police said. His car burst into flames and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
