A woman has been arrested in Alabama in connection with the death of 3-year-old Ke’Torrius “K.J.” Starkes Jr., who died last week after a state-contracted worker left him unattended in a car for several hours in the sweltering summer heat.

An Alabama boy left to die inside a locked car where temperatures reached in excess of 140 degrees is being remembered as a bright child who was full of life and lost out on a promising future.

The child, who was in foster care, died on July 22 after being left in a vehicle. A contractor for the state’s Human Resources Department was charged with a felony on Friday.
