UK-based airline British Airways has been forced to abandon flights between London Gatwick and New York, USA, due to a delay in Rolls-Royce engine parts being delivered

British Airways said it’s been forced to cancel some long-haul flights as the UK carrier suffers from issues afflicting its Boeing Co. 787 aircraft that are having knock-on effects on other parts of its fleet.

British Airways has cancelled all flights from London to New York until at least next year. Hundreds of long-haul flights have been abandoned over the coming months due to delays in the delivery of engines from Rolls-Royce.

The BA flight, which should've taken 12 hours, only got as far as Germany before returning to Gatwick Airport.
