The White Sage Fire, burning in northern Arizona near the destructive Dragon Bravo Fire, continues to grow with evacuations still in place.

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs toured the destruction left by a wildfire along the Grand Canyon's North Rim on Saturday, surveying what she described as devastating damage.

Fire restrictions placed on federal and state lands in Southeastern Arizona have been lifted. According to the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM), monsoon moisture has led to fire restrictions being lifted on July 21.

Highway closures and evacuations remain in effect as a wildfire burns more than 58,000 acres in Coconino County. It is one of two blazes raging at or near the northern rim of the Grand Canyon.

Officials have closed the North Rim of the Grand Canyon as the White Sage Fire burns near the town of Fredonia. Just 35 miles south, the Dragon Bravo Fire has destroyed structures inside the park.

The senators referenced the 2006 Warm Fire, another lightning-caused fire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon that was initially allowed to burn as a wildland use fire. The Warm Fire ultimately destroyed 59,000 acres of land and nearly killed a thousand people.
