VALENZUELA City Mayor Weslie Gatchalian signed an ordinance on Thursday banning street gangs in the city, with a particular focus on both private and public schools.

The Valenzuela City government on Wednesday declared 13 street gangs as persona non grata after their groups were allegedly involved in curfew violations, illegal drugs, fights, and hazing.

The gangs named in the indictment include the Diablos and West Side gangs, based in Escondido, Calif., as well as the Varrio San Marcos and the Varrio Fallbrook Locos.
