The sniper suspect was identified as 20-year-old Wess Roley after an hourslong manhunt ended in the discovery of his body.

The suspected sniper was identified as Wess Roley, 20, Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris confirmed at a news conference Monday afternoon.

The sniper, equipped with a rifle, allegedly lured the firefighters to the scene with the fire and ambushed them in a mountainous area of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, police said.
