Detectives spoke with the girlfriend, who allegedly said Russell had previously taken her to the riverbank of the White River – where Mitchell's body was found – and threatened to kill her.

Mitchell's girlfriend, Ayanna Hughuley, 17, said Mitchell was arguing with a man in the parking lot, when a third man pulled a handgun.

Detectives spoke with the girlfriend, who allegedly said Russell had previously taken her to the riverbank of the White River – where Mitchell's body was found – and threatened to kill her.

The murder case against 27-year-old Deangelo Mitchell, accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend, is now heading to a grand jury.
