Ohio’s peak tornado season is during the months of April through July, but severe weather can come at any time.

It means Doppler radar is showing signs that debris has been lofted into the air near the area of low-level rotation in a storm, giving the NWS high confidence a tornado is in progress.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION - Mass of thunderstorms with a weak circulation, winds less than 39mph. TROPICAL STORM - An organized rotating storm with winds of 39-73 mph. At this stage storm receives a name.
