Google Research announced the first satellite of its wildfire detection satellite network – FireSat. It is a collaboration between Google Research and several other organizations like Muon Space, Earth Fire Alliance and the Moore Foundation.

Google announced Monday that it has teamed up with fire community leaders to create FireSat, what it aims to be a constellation of more than 50 satellites designed to use AI to detect and track wildfires as small as a classroom.

Google has launched FireSat, the first satellite in a constellation of 50+ satellites designed to detect and track wildfires using AI. FireSat aims to provide high-resolution imagery every 20 minutes.
