A South Korean court on Tuesday approved an arrest warrant issued for President Yoon Suk Yeol, who was impeached and stripped of his presidential powers just weeks ago over his short-lived martial law decree that threw the country into political chaos.

South Korean anti-corruption agency says that a court has issued warrants to detain impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol and search his office.

The police are investigating whether President Yoon Suk Yeol tried to lead an insurrection when he declared martial law and plunged the country into crisis.
