Forward Erik Haula joined fellow injured player, defenseman Santeri Hatakka, on the ice at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House. The 33-year-old center has been sidelined with a sprained ankle that he sustained on Jan. 4 against the San Jose Sharks. On Jan. 17, the organization announced Haula was placed on injured reserve.

The New Jersey Devils (26-17-6) will host the Boston Bruins (23-19-6) on Wednesday at the Prudential Center with the puck dropping at 7:00 PM ET.

Haula was placed on injured reserve Friday -- the left-shot center hasn't suited up since Jan. 4 in San Jose. The 33-year-old will need to ramp up his activity level and join the team at practice before he becomes a candidate to re-enter the lineup. Haula has recorded five goals and 11 points through 42 appearances in 2024-25.

Morgan Geekie scored for the Bruins (23-20-6), who are 3-1-1 in their past five games. Jeremy Swayman allowed four goals on 29 shots in two periods. He was replaced by Joonas Korpisalo (five saves on six shots) at the start of the third period.
