Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Raiders have requested to interview Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph for their head coach opening. Apparently they weren't deterred by a subpar effort against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
A coaching journey he needed to take, and the former star linebacker uniquely suited to put a faltering franchise back on track.
He is the 10th known candidate the Jets have interviewed for their coaching vacancy. They’ve also spoken to Ron Rivera, Mike Vrabel, Rex Ryan, Matt Nagy, Aaron Glenn, Mike Locksley, Steve Spagnuolo, Darren Rizzi and Jeff Ulbrich.

Mike Vrabel made a triumphant return to New England as head coach of the Patriots on Monday. A former linebacker and Super Bowl champion under Bill Belichick, Vrabel said he felt the move back to Foxborough, Mass., was right "in his soul." Vrabel previously coached the Tennessee Titans and spent last season as a consultant for the Cleveland Browns.
