Former Detroit Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty previously expressed interest in returning to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the Dodgers have moved on.
Detroit loved Flaherty, but they also loved the return he brought at the trade deadline. The Tigers sent him to the Dodgers for infielder Trey Sweeney, a catalyst in Detroit’s late-summer push, and top-100 catching prospect Thayron Liranzo.
Flaherty, in what was quickly interpreted as a bid to re-sign in LA by doing a little sucking up, tweeted amid the online firestorm about all of the Dodgers' deferrals. He wrote on Twitter, " A certain team isn't ruining baseball. A lot of other teams are just doing very little ." Well, both could also be true.
