Notts County and Motherwell have joined the race to sign Cardiff youngster Michael Reindorf on loan. Reindorf has other suitors too, with Newport County and Bristol Rovers also said to be tracking him, report Football Insider.

The new-look Welsh League Cup has been granted a Conference League qualification spot by UEFA and the Football Association of Wales (FAW) had wanted the EFL’s Welsh clubs – Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham and Newport – to participate.

The proposal, subject to FA approval, would see Wrexham, Cardiff, Swansea and Newport compete in a revamped 16-team Welsh League Cup alongside the 12 JD Cymru Premier clubs; The FAW says the competition winner will go into the qualifying rounds of a UEFA club competition.

Swansea City, Cardiff City, Newport County and Wrexham have been working with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) under proposals entitled Prosiect Cymru (Project Wales) which could see them compete in a 16-team Welsh League Cup alongside the 12 sides in the Cymru Premier.

The differences between Wales' three largest cities compared to each other, and the rest of the UK, have been laid out in a new report. Cardiff, Swansea, and Newport are among the 63 cities whose data was analysed by Centre for Cities in their new Cities Outlook report.
