Gov. Greg Abbott is bringing the man behind Arizona’s universal school choice to the Capitol on Tuesday to join GOP leaders in the Legislature to push for using public dollars to fund private education.

Gov. Abbott said he is proud the Texas House has the votes to pass the $1 billion plan to spend public tax money for students to attend private school.

Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows said they believe the House will send both of the current education savings account bills out of committee and onto the House floor for a vote early next week.
