Tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across Southern California on Saturday to voice their concerns over ongoing immigration raids and oppose the policies of President Trump, who they depicted as an aspiring monarch.

Demonstrators crowded into streets, parks and plazas across the U.S. on Saturday to protest President Donald Trump, marching through downtowns and blaring anti-authoritarian chants mixed with support for protecting democracy and immigrant rights.

It comes amid protests in Los Angeles after Trump authorized the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to the city.

While the president contends that the L.A. protests against his immigration policy have been chaotic, the scenes are not as violent.

“Multiple groups continue to congregate on 1st St between Spring and Alameda. Those groups are being addressed and mass arrests are being initiated. Curfew is in effect,” read a post on the LAPD’s social media, sent at 9:09p.m local time on Tuesday night.

White House "border czar" Tom Homan said that protests in Los Angeles are complicating immigration raids, making them more "difficult" and more "dangerous."

President Donald Trump has deployed 4,000 National Guardsmen and 700 Marines to LA. But California Gov. Gavin Newsom and California Attorney General Rob Bonta are suing the Trump administration, saying they unlawfully "trampled over" California’s sovereignty when they federalized the California National Guard.
