A rail worker credited with saving multiple lives during a mass stabbing on a train has been named as Samir Zitouni. The 48-year-old's actions on the Doncaster to London King's Cross service on Saturday evening were described as "nothing short of heroic".

Three other knife incidents are being looked at by British auhtorities to see if they are connected to a mass stabbing on board a train over the weekend.

Anthony Williams, 32, of no fixed abode, has been charged over the mass stabbing which took place on the Doncaster to London King's Cross service on Saturday. British Transport Police, which has taken the lead on the inquiry, said it was being linked with the stabbing of a 14-year-old boy in Peterborough on Friday evening.

Police said said the 18-wheeler had been stopped on the south part of the tracks when it was struck by the westbound train.
