Newspaper columnist Peter Rhodes has revealed he has terminal cancer in an open letter to readers in Wolverhampton's Express & Star. Mr Rhodes revealed he had been diagnosed with kidney cancer and multiple blood clots in his lungs and said doctors had said his condition was terminal.

Block Communications, the owner of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, announced that the 240-year-old newspaper will cease operations in May. Block Communications also recently shut down the Pittsburgh City Paper, a 34-year-old weekly publication it purchased in 2023.
