President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming border czar vows that the biggest city in the Midwest will be “ground zero” for mass deportations, and officials across the political spectrum in Chicago are bracing for a showdown.

The Chicago Police Department vowed Monday to not comply with or assist federal agencies like ICE when it comes to deporting illegal immigrants.

The incoming Trump administration is reportedly beginning mass deportations next week in the city and across the U.S. Rep. Jesus “Chuy” Garcia said "the current threats are nothing new" and advocates are ready to fight for and protect the community.
