China urged India on Thursday to handle Taiwan issues with caution and avoid interference in the improvement of Sino-India relations following the opening of another Taiwan de facto consulate in Mumbai.

The one-China principle is a serious political commitment made by the Indian side and serves as the political foundation for China-India relations, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.

China firmly opposes any form of official interactions with China’s Taiwan region by countries that have diplomatic relations with China, including the mutual establishment of representative offices.
